Local Moving Services in California & Arizona
Neighborhood-deep local crews in California and Arizona.
Local moves look simple on paper and turn complicated the second you start stacking boxes by the front door. We've been doing California and Arizona local moves long enough to know which apartment elevators reserve their freight runs by the hour, which Phoenix HOAs insist on a current COI before a truck can roll into the gate, and which Orange County driveways will not — under any circumstance — fit a 26-foot straight truck.
Green Echo's local crews live in the cities they serve. The mover loading your couch in Long Beach is the same mover unloading it in Costa Mesa two hours later. That continuity is the whole reason small details survive a move: the cedar chest stays facing forward, the framed photos go in the labeled box, and the rug ends up rolled with the pad still attached.

A good fit if
Who this service is for
- Apartment and condo moves inside a single metro (LA, OC, San Diego, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson).
- Single-family home moves under 100 miles where you'd rather not rent a U-Haul and recruit your in-laws.
- Senior downsizes that need patience, careful handling, and a crew that won't rush a 40-year photo album collection.
- Same-day or next-day jobs when a lease falls through or a closing date moves up.
Standard service
What's included
- Pad-wrapping of upholstered furniture and full blankets on all wood and case goods.
- Disassembly and reassembly of beds, dining tables, and mirrors — included, not an upsell.
- Floor runners in the loading and unloading area, door-jamb protection on tight entryways.
- Mattress bags, TV cartons, and wardrobe boxes delivered the morning of the move.
- Standard 60¢/lb released-value coverage; full-replacement coverage available for a flat fee.
- A coordinator who answers their phone — not a 1-800 menu and a ticket number.
Process
How it works
Step 01
Quote
Quick call or video walkthrough (about 15 minutes). We send a written hourly estimate the same day with a clear minimum, a clear cap, and a list of what's included.
Step 02
Schedule
Pick a date. We confirm crew size (typically 2–4 movers), truck size, and a 30-minute arrival window. No vague 'between 8 and noon' nonsense.
Step 03
Move day
Crew arrives in uniform with a printed inventory, walks the home with you, and protects floors and walls before a single box leaves the room.
Step 04
Unload
Furniture goes where you point. Boxes go in the rooms labeled. Beds get reassembled. You sign off before we collect payment.
Transparent
Pricing & what to expect
Local moves are billed hourly with a two- or three-hour minimum, depending on metro. Typical 2025 rates: two movers and a truck $145–$175/hour, three movers $185–$235/hour, four movers $235–$295/hour. Travel time is one-way (we don't bill you for our drive home).
Materials — boxes, tape, wrap — are itemized at cost and reusable items (wardrobes, blankets, dollies) are free. We don't pad the bill with 'fuel surcharges' or 'truck fees.' Your estimate is the number you should expect to pay, give or take the hour your local has to actually wait at the elevator.
Owner-operated
Why Green Echo for this work
We're owner-operated and small on purpose. Every job has a lead mover with at least three years of experience on our trucks and a coordinator you can call by name. We don't sell leads, we don't broker your move to a third party, and we don't take more jobs in a day than we can crew properly.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you do a local move?+
Same-day or next-day in most California and Arizona metros, schedule permitting. Booking 5–7 days ahead is ideal for weekend slots.
Do you charge for stairs or long carries?+
No flight fees and no carry fees. If a job has a long elevator wait or a 100-foot carry, we'll point it out on the estimate so the hourly clock doesn't surprise you.
What's the minimum charge?+
Two hours plus one-way travel in California; three hours plus travel in most of Arizona. The minimum covers a real crew showing up — not a fee designed to pad the bill.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes — fully licensed in California (CAL-T) and Arizona, with $1M general liability and standard cargo coverage. Certificates of insurance available on request for your building.
