Professional Packing & Unpacking Services
Hospital-grade wrap, crated art, and a fragile-china test we pass.
Packing is the part of a move that decides whether anything breaks. We've trained our packing crews on the specifics — the right tape pattern for a top-loaded dish pack, the right cell pattern for stemware, the right way to crate a flat-screen so it survives an interstate haul — because every claim we've ever paid out has traced back to a box someone packed in a hurry.
Green Echo offers full-pack, partial-pack, kitchen-only, fragile-only, and unpack-at-destination services across California and Arizona. We can show up the day before your move and pack your entire home, or just box up the china hutch while you handle the rest. Either way, the boxes we pack are the boxes we move — and the boxes we pack don't break.

Process
How it works
Step 01
Walkthrough
Quick survey to identify what gets packed, what stays, and what needs custom crating. We estimate materials and labor hours in writing.
Step 02
Materials drop
Boxes, tape, paper, wrap, and crates delivered the day before pack day. You can self-pack anything you want and we'll handle the rest.
Step 03
Pack day
Crew of 2–4 packers, depending on home size. Most full-pack jobs take one day; large or art-heavy homes get two days.
Step 04
Move day
Boxes load with the rest of the move. Same crew, same accountability, no handoffs.
Step 05
Unpack (optional)
At destination, we debox, place items on counters and shelving, flatten and remove all cardboard, and recycle responsibly.

Pricing & what to expect
Packing is billed at $85–$115/hour per packer plus materials at cost. A full pack on a typical two-bedroom home runs $850–$1,400 in labor and materials; a three-bedroom $1,400–$2,400; a four-bedroom $2,200–$3,800. Fragile-only kitchen packs typically land $350–$700.
Custom crating for art and electronics is quoted per piece based on dimensions and materials — usually $85–$250 per crate. Unpack service at destination is typically 60–70% of the pack labor cost since debris removal is faster than packing.
Owner-operated
Why Green Echo for this work
Packing crews on national van lines are often subcontracted day-laborers who learn the job that morning. Ours are W-2 employees we trained, and they pack the same boxes that go into our own trucks — so a poorly packed box is our problem, not somebody else's. That alignment is why our claim rate on full-pack moves is under 1%.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use your packing if you're moving us?+
No. We move plenty of self-packed homes. We do require that boxes are closed and labeled before we load them, and we'll flag any boxes that look likely to fail in transit.
Will you pack jewelry, cash, or important documents?+
We recommend you hand-carry valuables, jewelry, cash, prescriptions, passports, and irreplaceable documents. We won't pack firearms or hazardous materials.
Can you pack the day of the move?+
For studios and one-bedrooms, sometimes. For most homes, pack day is the day before the move so load day stays on schedule.
Do you unpack and remove cardboard?+
Yes. Unpack service includes deboxing, basic placement, breaking down all cardboard, and hauling it for recycling.
